すくすく育つ烏骨鶏の雛

我が家の烏骨鶏たちは、天気が良いと外で遊ぶのが好きだ。

西瓜が大好物で、私の食べた残りを種とともに置いておくとすっかり綺麗にペラペラの皮だけになっている。

雛たちはまだ西瓜の味を知らないのか、あまり興味なさそうだ。

生まれてから2ヶ月ちょっと。

体も親の一回り小さいくらいまで育った。

そろそろ雄雌の特徴が出始める頃だが。

まだはっきりとはしていないが、白2羽・黒1羽の雛のうち白1羽だけが雌みたいだ。

現在15羽のうち半数以上の8羽が雄となってしまいそうだ。

道楽で飼っているわけではないので、来年はこの雄たちを何とかしなければならない。

よわった。

まだつぶす勇気が沸いてこない。

私はなんと偽善者か！

普段は平気で鶏肉をスーパーで買って食べているのに。

本当に来年は何とかしなくちゃ。
